*YAWN* aka New iPhone Announced
In case you can’t tell, my general overall opinion on today’s announcements is lackluster at best. We have features that people up and down claimed should have been in the first iteration (but I’m sure the Apple fan-boys will back-pedal on these previous statements under the guise of “Apple can do no wrong”). I’m overly unimpressed, and was honestly expecting more from Apple.
Video Blog: Apple vs. RIM in the Enterprise.
This week’s video blog looks at the discussion and obcession people have with the iPhone vs. BlackBerry in the enterprise market. I’m still on my digital camera for these but the purchase of some kind of web cam is in the works. If anyone has any recommendations on web cams, I’m all ears so leave a comment or email me.

This week on the Power of Information, Derek, Suzy, and I discuss Apple’s latest announcements (and there’s a lot of them this week), Universal starting Blu-Ray support, and Melinda Gates gives a rare interview. We also talk about micro-blogging site, Jaiku, an open source search engine, and we look at some recent video game announcements. All this and more on this week’s Power of Information.
MacWorld 2008 Predictions Follow-up
So my total score was like 4 out 9 (if you count my SDK addendum, which there was a small mention of the SDK but no firm release date). So for the first of Almost, Not Yet Macworld Predictions, not a bad score. Yes, it’s less than half, but Apple announcement have been known to be changed at the last minute so who knows. You pretty much have to predict a lot of stuff to get even one thing right it seems with these things. It was fun and we will definitely do it again next year.
Addendum: Koby’s MacWorld 2008 Predicitions
I would like to add an additional prediction to my list. This one goes to the iPhone category. I expect that Steve Jobs will make some sort of official announcement as to when developers can expect the release of the iPhone SDK (development kit). He has previously stated that we would see the development kit [...]
Koby’s MacWorld 2008 Predicitions
So tomorrow the MacWorld keynote takes place and everyone is going to be either attending or hitting one of the many sites offering “live from the keynote” updates (see Engadget). MacWorld has, for the past few years been where Steve Jobs makes some of his cooler announcements, so it is totally understandable why people are excitedly awaiting the start of the keynote.
Power of Information #64
This week on the Power of Information, Derek, Suzy, and I discuss Apple entering the movie rental business, Sony/BMG dropping DRM, Bill Gate’s new toy (the Microsoft Surface), and Warner Bros. going with Blu-Ray exclusively. Michael also talks about why today’s music might not sound as good as you think. All this and more on this week’s Power of Information.
